Sometimes I think I can make some fairly rash decisions when it comes to what I can manage in my creative space/time. I decided to make another Alpine Frost Scarf as a surprise gift to a friend when there was 6 weeks or so to go before said gifting date. This is somewhat unusual for me as I'm often sewing/knitting/crafting right up until the deadline...plenty of time, mate, plenty of time!
So what I have I worked on for the first two weeks - hmmm this new cardigan! Then yesterday "said gifting date" shifted like two weeks forward and I'm back on familiar territory...panic and looming deadlines. This my friends is my creative space today! More over here...
Oh...I nearly forgot. I'd love to giveaway one hank (100g/500m yardage) of the yarn that I'm working with. The glorious baby alpaca to a reader (chosen by random) who leaves a comment here before midnight next Wednesday 5th October (AEST). One hank is enough for a scarf or small shawl usually, and the winner can choose their own colour.
Oh man gotta love those gifting deadlines when they shift and creep up on you! That scarf is beautuful btw as is the cardigan, I adore moss stitch. Anyways I'm off to read back through your blog and get caught up :) it was really nice finding you tonight
ReplyDeleteI found your blog yesterday and is very interesting. love your yarns also and would love to enter this yummy giveaway!
ReplyDeleteOoh, that looks lovely and soft! How does this alpaca wear?
ReplyDeleteYour gift knitting story sounds so familiar...
It wears like a dream, very soft and fluid even for a crochet garment.
ReplyDeletelooks lovely and soft
ReplyDeleteI love alpaca! I need enough for a gift scarf, would be awesome to win it!
ReplyDeleteOh the Holst Garn I bought off you recently has been lovely to work with. Thanks for bringing the Danish yarn to us. Makes it easier than actually going to Denmark!
ReplyDeleteNasty shifting deadlines. I am still patting the skein I bought. That purple is lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou so remind me of me! After all, when there's heaps of time for a project, there's time for another project, right? I have been eying this yarn but saying to myself "Finish something first!"
ReplyDeleteOooooh, I just love that alpaca, and in that colour!
ReplyDeleteLove alpaca and thats amazing meterage for 100 grams. I'd even go black for something like that.
ReplyDeleteOh no, those pesky deadlines! They do like to creep up on you...
ReplyDeleteThe alpaca looks gorgeously soft!
ooh, baby alpaca ... pick me! pick me!
ReplyDeleteI never really have deadline problems, but then I never really specify which birthday, anniversary, or Christmas what year. As for babies, due dates are pretty much an open-ended thing. June, August, December... the kid'll stay put til the blanket's ready, right? Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteNice yarn :) I've bookmarked your store.
ReplyDeleteI always have deadline problems. That alpaca looks scrumptious!!

I ordered the Holst Yarn/Samarkand in Aubergine & was delighted when they arrived...beautiful yarn...so excited...have to finish shawl for baby shower & then...heaven!!
ReplyDeleteThis is why I don't give knitted gifts for occasions (although knitted items make great just-because gifts, and that doesn't mean deadlines for me).
