I got up early this morning to block my latest project the
Fia Hat from MillaMia's Wonderland book. This required making a toddler head out of a towel, which kind of seems to work...but I'd be glad for any tips on how to do this?
This is my first attempt at colour work, and I've got to say I'm loving myself sick over it!

Make a toddler head out of a towel? Can't you blow up a balloon as a substitute? or am I missing something???

I don't think you need any tips. It looks wonderfully smooth fabric. Colourwork is fabulous and creates and effect way beyond the knitting energy put in. I think the Lopi circular yoke vest would make a wonderful knit in this wool and the adult version is perfect for Canberra - warm on the shoulders but arms free.

ReplyDeleteAnd when you start importing Aran Weight and want to tie in with your blog name, you could knit this!!! And use your own noggin for blocking :)

ReplyDeleteCould you use a 'ham'? They are tough round shapes used for ironing curves in tailoring and sewing, for men's jackets etc. I think they have sawdust inside.
